Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Silas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Pizzaelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Silas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Pizzaelli!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pizzaelli circles away.
Silas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pizzaelli as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Silas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silas moves in looking to clinch but Pizzaelli pushes him off.
Silas tries to clinch there but Pizzaelli circles away.
Pizzaelli throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silas shoots for a double leg takedown but Pizzaelli sprawls well. He's pushed Silas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silas shoots in looking for a takedown. Pizzaelli tries to sprawl out of it but Silas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pizzaelli manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pizzaelli stalks Silas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silas's face. Silas staggers backwards, shaken.
Silas moves out of range of the body kick from Pizzaelli.
Silas shoots for a takedown but Pizzaelli saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silas is looking to clinch but Pizzaelli is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No joy there for Pizzaelli, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pizzaelli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pizzaelli misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Pizzaelli!

Pizzaelli looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Silas tries to clinch up but Pizzaelli circles away and keeps his distance.
Pizzaelli throws a series of punches but Silas moves out of range.
Pizzaelli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silas shoots in but Pizzaelli avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silas tries to clinch up but Pizzaelli circles away and keeps his distance.
Silas misses with a takedown attempt - Pizzaelli sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Silas blocks the body kick.
Silas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Silas shoots in and bounces Pizzaelli off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silas throws a big right hand that misses.
Silas postures up.
Silas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pizzaelli is keeping the position for now.
Silas wants to control from the top but Pizzaelli keeps moving.
Silas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silas stands up over Pizzaelli, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Pizzaelli utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pizzaelli's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Pizzaelli duly obliges.
The fighters circling - Pizzaelli throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silas shoots in and drives through. Pizzaelli sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Silas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick misses from Pizzaelli.
A combination from Pizzaelli does no damage.
Silas shoots for a takedown but Pizzaelli saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pizzaelli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silas throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silas wants to hit a switch here but Pizzaelli passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Silas there!
Silas flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Silas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pizzaelli is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Silas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Pizzaelli wants to control the pace but Silas is squirming around nicely.
Silas is trying desperately to improve position.
Silas tries to lock up and control but Pizzaelli gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Silas is in all sorts of trouble here.

Seth Pizzaelli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Silas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Silas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pizzaelli decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silas's guard.
Silas trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Silas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silas is nestled in close to Pizzaelli, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Silas thows a huge punch but Pizzaelli dodges it nicely.
Silas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pizzaelli's head.
Pizzaelli wants to get back to full guard.
Silas lands strikes from half guard.
Silas winds up and cracks Pizzaelli with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Pizzaelli takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silas seems to be working for a kimura but Pizzaelli defends the submission attempt.
Silas looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Silas not landing any meaningful shots this time.
