The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinola ducks right into an uppercut from Ford.
Ford tries to clinch
and Shinola counters with a three punch combo that has Ford backing up. Ford nods at Shinola to acknowledge the strikes.
Ford just misses with a punch to the body.
Shinola takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Shinola tries to move into range but Ford moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ford throws a leg kick but Shinola checks it.
Shinola is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ford sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Oh Shinola is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ford tries to pull guard but Shinola holds him up against the cage and eventually Ford drops back down to his feet.
Ford jumps guard but Shinola stands there with Ford around his waist. Ford gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shinola seems to have got his legs back now.
Shinola breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shinola walks into a jab.

Ford swats away the attempt to clinch by Shinola.
Ford fails with the takedown.
Brett Shinola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Ford.

Ford throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ford lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Shinola tries for a takedown but Ford sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Oooooh!!! Ford has knocked Shinola down with a huge combo! Ford steps away and waves a wobbly Shinola back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Ford lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Shinola can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Ford and Shinola drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Ford.
