Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Halisstra Melarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hermann Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon den Adel - In And Out Of Love. Hermann Walker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Halisstra Melarn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hermann Walker! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melarn thows a body shot but no joy. Walker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Melarn. Melarn scores with a jab to the head.
Melarn misses with a wild body shot. Melarn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Melarn jabs Walker right on the nose. Walker blinks but takes it well. Walker shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Melarn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Walker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Walker. Melarn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Melarn trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom. Walker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Melarn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker has his foot on Melarn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Melarn works his way back into a safe position though. Melarn wants to get up but he can't break Walker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Walker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Melarn advances position into side control! Walker sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Melarn winds up and cracks Walker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Melarn scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker is trying to get back to full guard. Melarn throwing shots but Walker is blocking nicely. Walker wants to improve his position but Melarn is controlling well.
Melarn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Melarn wants to take a breather but Walker is having none of it. Melarn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Walker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Melarn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Walker wants to improve his position but Melarn is controlling well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice uppercut there from Melarn. Hermann Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melarn throws a hook to the side of Walker's head but Walker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Melarn looks to score with a jab to the body but Walker is just out of range. Melarn takes a swing at Walker's ribcage but misses. Melarn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Walker on the side of the head. Walker stuffs the takedown attempt from Melarn. Melarn gets slowly back to his feet. Melarn is breathing heavily. Walker walks into a stiff left hand from Melarn. Melarn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Walker's head. Melarn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Walker sees it coming and avoids it easily. Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Melarn looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Melarn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Melarn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walker is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Melarn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Walker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Melarn throwing strikes but missing. Melarn connects with a couple of short punches. Melarn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Walker is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Melarn has his hands clasped together but Walker extends an breaks Melarn's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Walker.
