Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seth Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kelvin Stewart! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage lands the left hand.
It looks like Kelvin Stewart has been cut. Savage lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Savage throws out a powerful jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Savage misses with a double jab
so Stewart counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stewart drops back looking for a leg! Savage is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Savage manages to kick Stewart off! Stewart jumps back into Savage's guard. Stewart won't allow Savage to get back to his feet. Stewart is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Stewart drops back looking for a leg! Savage is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Savage manages to kick Stewart off! Stewart jumps back into Savage's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stewart thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Savage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stewart is controlling him. Stewart drops back looking for a leg! Savage is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Savage manages to kick Stewart off! Stewart jumps back into Savage's guard. Savage wants to get back to his feet but Stewart is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stewart throws a strike but Savage rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Savage has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stewart is proving hard to escape from. Stewart is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Savage is aware though and is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stewart isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Savage stacks Stewart on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Savage! Savage decides to stand back up. Savage steps back and let's Stewart get back to his feet. Savage misses with a few strikes there.
Savage is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stewart is defended easily by Savage. Savage lands an overhand right. Some wild striking there from Savage.
Savage scores with a one two! Stewart had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savage throws a nice looking combination but Stewart bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Savage works the jab nicely. Savage defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stewart. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters circling - Savage throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Seth Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Savage feints a jab promting Stewart to slip. Savage then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stewart slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Savage looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Savage throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stewart counters with a nice double leg into side control. Savage won't be happy with that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Seth Savage will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kelvin Stewart's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Savage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Stewart. Stewart staying out of range there. Savage fails to land with a series of punches.

Seth Savage is winning the standup battle so far. Savage scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Seth Savage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Savage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stewart circles away quickly and effectively. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Savage connects with a nice looking jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stewart blocks a head kick by Savage.
Savage throws a hook to the side of Stewart's head but Stewart sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Savage misses with a double jab.
Savage fails to land with a series of punches.
Stewart decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Stewart is trying for a kimura here. Savage looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Stewart wins by kimura!
