The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oven swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Matinheimo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Oven closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Matinheimo to the mat! Matinheimo manages to get full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Oven throwing strikes from guard but Matinheimo blocks nicely.
Oven scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Oven looking to pass the guard.
Oven is looking to work some ground and pound but Matinheimo has wrist control.
Matinheimo can't keep his opponent in guard - Oven advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Oven is just content to waste time from the top position. Matinheimo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Oven is looking to advance position but Matinheimo has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Oven is desperately trying to improve his position but Matinheimo has a good base and remains in mount.

Oven sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Oven is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Oven bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Matinheimo's guard.

Oven pushes down on Matinheimo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oven is looking to advance position but Matinheimo won't allow it.
Matinheimo is refusing to be controlled, as Oven sits in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Oven lands a nice short elbow.
Oven sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Matinheimo defending well though.
Matinheimo has hold of Oven's hands but Oven slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Oven working over Matinheimo with some ground and pound. Matinheimo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Oven is keen to just control but Matinheimo is a slippery customer.
Oven drops an elbow to the side of Matinheimo's head.
Oven tries to pass to full mount but Matinheimo defends it.
Oven is looking to take a break and control but Matinheimo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Oven might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Matinheimo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
