Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Mecier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keke Pummel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Mecier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keke Pummel! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mecier cracks Pummel with a good jab. Pummel throws an overhand right that lands on Mecier's shoulder, as Mecier tries to avoid the shot. Pummel looks to land a right hand but Mecier moved out of range. Pummel misses with a wild body shot. Mecier dives in and scores a takedown into Pummel's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mecier trying to control the position from guard on top but Pummel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pummel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mecier is controlling him. Pummel is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Mecier is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pummel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pummel has escaped and now he's on top! Mecier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pummel looking to pass the guard. Pummel trying to control but Mecier is working from the bottom. Mecier wants to sweep here but Pummel controlling him for the moment. Mecier looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pummel passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pummel missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mecier is refusing to be controlled, as Pummel sits in half guard. Pummel keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mecier trying to control from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pummel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mecier. A momentary lapse in concentration from Pummel enables Mecier to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pummel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mecier engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. This has been an exciting period of action! Mecier passes Pummel's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mecier is keen to just control but Pummel is a slippery customer. Mecier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pummel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Mecier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pummel defends it well. Mecier trying to control the action but Pummel is working from the bottom. Pummel wants to improve his position but Mecier is controlling well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pummel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Mecier dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pummel walks into a left hand. Pummel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mecier moves away. Pummel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mecier throws a hook but Pummel avoids it easily. Mecier instigates a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mecier struggles to land a body shot inside as Pummel controls his hands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pummel has Mecier pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mecier manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mecier lands a hook to the side of the head. Mecier jumps guard but Pummel stands there with Mecier around his waist. Mecier gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pummel misses with a wild body shot. Pummel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pummel looks to land a left hand but Mecier moved out of range nicely. Pummel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mecier manages to avoid it. Mecier scores with a jab. Pummel acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Mecier walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pummel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Mecier moves into range and connects with a jab. Pummel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pummel swinging wildly here.

and Mecier connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Pummel fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Alan Mecier is winning the standup battle so far. Pummel throws a hook to the side of Mecier's head but Mecier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pummel throws a right and a left that Mecier avoids nicely. Mecier sizes up Pummel with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mecier avoids the body shot from Pummel.
Mecier fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pummel, pushing him back against the cage. Pummel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mecier is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mecier slowing the pace effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mecier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pummel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Mecier manages to break the clinch.
Pummel throws out a leg kick but Mecier moves out of range and Pummel only half commits. Pummel misses with a looping right. Pummel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mecier was well out of range. Poor timing from Pummel. Mecier throws a looping overhand right but Pummel ducks down to avoid it. Pummel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pummel misses with a body shot.

Mecier sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mecier tries to close the distance and clinch but Pummel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pummel slips under a jab from Mecier. Pummel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mecier.
Keke Pummel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mecier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pummel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mecier somewhat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mecier throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mecier doesn't manage to clinch there - Pummel circles away.
