And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Reed!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed misses with a lunging right hand
and St Piper counters with a solid body kick.
St Piper on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Reed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
St Piper ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
St Piper feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Reed's calf.
Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but St Piper manages to avoid it.

Reed gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
St Piper is pushing down on Reed's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reed is fighting to maintain full guard but St Piper has managed to sneak the leg through.

Reed jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as St Piper walks away with a smile on his face. Reed gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and St Piper counters with a series of strikes. Reed will be more careful next time no doubt.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from St Piper, right into the meat.

Reed is looking for a takedown up against the cage. St Piper gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

St Piper throws a punch but it's blocked by Reed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gene St Piper dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
