The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taranov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lindel avoids it really well and circles away.
Lindel gets a double leg takedown into Taranov's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Taranov has an active guard here but Lindel has managed to pass into half guard.

Taranov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lindel is working away from the top position though.
Lindel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lindel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Taranov!
Lindel cracks Taranov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lindel pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lindel breaks from Taranov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Taranov is rocked!
Lindel softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Taranov is out cold! Lindel jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikael Lindel!
