Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Hawking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Sung il (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kim Sung il!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sung il misses with a head kick.
Sung il ducks under a wild hook from Hawking.
Hawking scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hawking swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hawking defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sung il.
A big right from Hawking misses.
Hawking avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Hawking throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sung il.
Sung il ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sung il tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hawking throws a right and a left that Sung il avoids nicely.
Hawking lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sung il fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hawking to the ground. Sung il is now in Hawking's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hawking tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sung il wants to pass the guard but Hawking is keeping the position.
Hawking manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sung il manages to get himself to full guard.

Hawking wants to control from the top but Sung il keeps moving.

Sung il throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hawking uses it to pass to side control.
Hawking tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawking works to advance to full mount. Sung il defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hawking can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sung il is looking to escape.
Sung il is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sung il tries to hold on but Hawking pushes him away.
Hawking lands a big elbow.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hawking has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sung il's face.
Hawking lands with some strikes.
Hawking avoids the attempt from Sung il to control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sung il keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sung il is squirming around, avoiding Hawking's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hawking throws a shot to the body.
Hawking throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sung il sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stephen Hawking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sung il throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hawking connects with a nice looking jab.

and Hawking counters with a crisp one two that drops Sung il! Hawking thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Sung il to his feet! Sung il is in big trouble!
Sung il is still on wobbly legs! Can Hawking finish him?
Hawking throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hawking works Sung il's body with a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sung il takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hawking cracks Sung il with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sung il tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hawking pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Sung il is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephen Hawking!
