Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bash comes to the cage accompanied by Black Sabbath - Paranoid. Jon Bash has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Couture!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Couture.

Couture shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bash holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Couture tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bash on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bash tries to get out of the position.

Couture wants to finish this one by submission but Bash is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Couture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bash is trying to stand up.
Couture lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bash hang on?

Couture goes for an armbar but Bash turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bash.

Couture is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bash defends well.

Couture looking for a sweep. Not yet Couture, not yet.
Couture bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bash's guard.
Bash trying to keep a closed guard but Couture is proving a slippery customer.

Couture drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bash dives on top into guard.

Couture working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bash has passed into half guard!

Couture manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Couture throwing strikes here but Bash is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Couture moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bash has worked his arm free - good work by Bash!

Couture is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bash knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Couture thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Couture tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Couture shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bash pinned against the cage. Bash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Couture walks into a stiff left hand from Bash.
Bash slaps away a takedown attempt from Couture, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bash stuffs the takedown attempt from Couture. Couture gets slowly back to his feet.
Bash looks to score with a jab to the body but Couture is just out of range.
Couture avoids a kick to the body.
Bash looks to land a left hand but Couture moved out of range nicely.
Jon Bash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Couture darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Couture has his takedown stuffed
and Bash counters with a three punch combo that has Couture backing up. Couture nods at Bash to acknowledge the strikes.
Couture changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bash tries to avoid it but Couture manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bash to the ground. Bash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bash throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Couture dives in and grabs Bash's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bash pushes down on Couture's head and hops out.
Bash lands with a nice body punch.
Jon Bash is winning the standup battle so far.
Bash looks to land a combination. Couture sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bash does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bash fails to land with a series of punches.
Couture fails with the takedown.
Bash feints and then cracks Couture's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Couture down.
Bash lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bash closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bash just misses with a punch to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bash, as that shot connected.
Bash leaves Couture with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Couture shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bash as he avoids it easily.

Nice takedown defense from Bash. No joy for Couture on that attempt.
Bash takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

enabling Bash to counter with a crisp jab.

Couture is rocked!
Bash cracks Couture with an open hand slap.
Couture is still on wobbly legs! Can Bash finish him?
Couture tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bash sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Couture somewhat.
A head kick by Couture misses
and Bash counters with a solid body kick.

Couture closes the distance and clinches up with Bash, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes Bash against the cage but Bash circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Couture seems to have recovered his senses.
Bash connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Couture walks straight into a right hand from Bash - that's dropped him! Bash jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Couture from any more punishment! Couture complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
