Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Ma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Ruchkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ma comes to the cage accompanied by All Shall Perish- Wage Slave. Ruchkin has chosen Rick Astley-Together Forever as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, William Ma!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Arthur Ruchkin!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ma.
Ruchkin wants to clinch but Ma slips to the side
so Ma counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ma is in close to Ruchkin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ma throwing strikes but missing.
Ma slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ma thows a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ma works over Ruchkin with some ground and pound from guard.
Ma drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ma jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ruchkin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ma working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ruchkin's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ma prevents Ruchkin from getting back to his feet.
Ma lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Ruchkin looks gassed!
Ruchkin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ma gets to his feet - Ruchkin follows without any prompting.
Ma throws a head kick but Ruchkin moves out of range.
Ma fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruchkin sprawls well initially but Ma persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ma wants to pass to mount but Ruchkin is defending the position.
Ruchkin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ma.
Ma takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ruchkin wants to get back to his feet.
Ruchkin taking some punishment here, with Ma in his half guard.
Ma thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ruchkin's head.
Ma maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ruchkin could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ma has cracked it and Ruchkin is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ma!
