Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Pumphrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergei Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Pumphrey!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pumphrey gets caught flat footed, as Montoya shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Montoya throws a strike but Pumphrey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pumphrey wants to get up but he can't break Montoya's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Pumphrey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Montoya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergei Montoya.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Montoya, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
