The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambert dives in and scores a takedown into Ma's guard.
Ma wants to sweep but no luck.

Lambert dives in and grabs Ma's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ma pushes down on Lambert's head and hops out.

Lambert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ma pinned against the cage. Ma gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Lambert or perhaps it was just good defense by Ma which made him look bad.

Lambert fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ma, pushing him back against the cage.
Ma jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lambert walks away with a smile on his face. Ma gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee asks Ma politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ma prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lambert parries the strikes from Ma easily there. Ma is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lambert to escape.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
