Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crhistian Browles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitch comes into the arena with Kickstart blaring out of the sound system. Browles has chosen Knockin on Heaven's Door by: Guns n Roses as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Browles moves to clinch but Fitch breaks away and Fitch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Browles won't be happy with that. Browles is trying to escape the position but Fitch is controlling the position. Fitch cracks Browles with a big elbow. Fitch taking a breather here. Browles is pushing Fitch's head away, looking to escape. Fitch manages to hold on to the position though. Fitch lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Check out the look on Fitch's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Fitch just wasn't active enough. Browles tries to clinch but Fitch moves away and Fitch counters with a takedown into side control. Fitch tries for a kimura but Browles is defending well. Browles is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Fitch is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nice strikes from Fitch there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Browles shoots for a takedown but Fitch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Browles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fitch as he avoids it easily. Fitch looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Fitch stays in close to Browles's body and controls the position. Fitch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Fitch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Browles is working an open guard so Fitch takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Browles looks gassed!

Fitch sitting in guard, not really doing much. Fitch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Fitch throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Browles tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fitch is in Browles's guard.
