PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenichi Uzomaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cro Cop comes to the cage accompanied by My Immortal . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mirko Cro Cop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Uzomaki!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzomaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Uzomaki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cro Cop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Uzomaki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Cro Cop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Uzomaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uzomaki stands and throws Cro Cop's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Uzomaki is working Cro Cop over with some ground and pound from side control.

Uzomaki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Uzomaki is trying to get an arm triangle but Cro Cop is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cro Cop stops Uzomaki from passing to mount.
Uzomaki tries to score with some ground and pound. Cro Cop controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Uzomaki stands up.
Cro Cop keeps the fight on the outside.

Cro Cop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Uzomaki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cro Cop tries to score a body lock takedown but Uzomaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cro Cop gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Uzomaki.
Uzomaki goes for a takedown attempt but Cro Cop pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Uzomaki stalks Cro Cop and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cro Cop's face. Cro Cop staggers backwards, shaken.
Uzomaki looks to land a combination but Cro Cop avoids it well.

Uzomaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cro Cop was covering up waiting for the punch and Uzomaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Cro Cop preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Uzomaki advances position into side control!

Uzomaki is trying to get an arm triangle but Cro Cop is defending well.

Uzomaki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cro Cop has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's six minutes gone in the round.

Uzomaki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Cro Cop shoots in looking for a takedown but Uzomaki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cro Cop's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mirko Cro Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Uzomaki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.

Uzomaki drives through with a takedown into Cro Cop's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Uzomaki has gone for a leg lock! Cro Cop slips out almost immediately though and dives into Uzomaki's guard.

Uzomaki is looking to stand up but Cro Cop isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kenichi Uzomaki.
Uzomaki wants to clinch.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Cro Cop with a lazy takedown attempt
and Uzomaki counters with a two punch combo.
Uzomaki wants to clinch up but Cro Cop keeps it at a distance.
Uzomaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cro Cop swivels and escapes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Uzomaki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cro Cop on the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenichi Uzomaki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Cro Cop closes this distance looking for a takedown but Uzomaki circles away.

Uzomaki sends Cro Cop crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Uzomaki is motioning to the referee to let Cro Cop up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Cro Cop is rocked!

Uzomaki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cro Cop, pushing him back against the cage.
Oh Cro Cop is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Uzomaki has clasped his hands together around Cro Cop's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Uzomaki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Uzomaki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big shot lands for Uzomaki! That's hurt Cro Cop! Will he recover? Uzomaki fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenichi Uzomaki!
