Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chico Escuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escuela comes to the cage accompanied by Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck. Mirko Filipovic will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escuela goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Escuela shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Escuela clinches up against the cage.
Filipovic stops a takedown attempt from Escuela.
Filipovic prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chico Escuela. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Escuela blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Escuela tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Filipovic avoids it.
Filipovic misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Escuela has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Filipovic avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Filipovic has a couple of punches blocked by Escuela.
Filipovic can't find room to land a body shot as Escuela controls the action.
Filipovic tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Escuela's elbow.
Filipovic lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Escuela or not.

Filipovic is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Filipovic misses with a body punch.

Escuela goes for a takedown attempt but Filipovic pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Filipovic misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Escuela. Filipovic does a little dance to reset his feet.
An inside leg kick lands from Filipovic.
Escuela misses with a kick to the body
and Filipovic counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Filipovic throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Filipovic throws a body punch but Escuela moves out of range.
Escuela misses with a right hand
and Filipovic counters with an inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Filipovic. Escuela does a little dance to reset his feet.
Filipovic throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Escuela.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Escuela takes a kick to the side of the head.
Filipovic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Filipovic throws a body kick that misses.
Escuela gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Filipovic.

Filipovic is looking to score with low kicks.
Escuela tries to land a front kick but Filipovic steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A solid leg kick lands there for Escuela.
Filipovic just misses with a punch to the body.
Filipovic is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Escuela.
Filipovic with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Escuela looks to score with a jab to the body but Filipovic is just out of range.

Escuela takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Escuela throws a body kick that misses.
Filipovic scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Filipovic lands with a slapping head kick.
Escuela throws a combination. Filipovic tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mirko Filipovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Escuela checks a low kick from Filipovic.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Escuela pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Escuela uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Filipovic.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirko Filipovic dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Escuela takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Filipovic misses with a kick to the body.
Escuela throws a right hand that Filipovic ducks under and follows up with a left that Filipovic also avoids with ease.
Filipovic tries a head kick but it misses.
Escuela looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Escuela gets a double leg takedown into Filipovic's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Escuela is pushing down on Filipovic's leg trying to pass to half guard. Filipovic is fighting to maintain full guard but Escuela has managed to sneak the leg through.
Filipovic is trying to control but Escuela manages to pass to mount!
Escuela loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Filipovic scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Escuela land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Escuela stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chico Escuela!
Chico Escuela retains his heavyweight title!
