Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Justine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Kozlov! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Justine. Justine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kozlov defends it nicely. Kozlov pushes Justine up against the cage in a clinch. Kozlov tries to pull guard but Justine won't allow it.
Justine fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Justine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kozlov avoiding damage.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Kozlov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Justine walks away with a smile on his face. Kozlov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Justine fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kozlov on the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kozlov wants to clinch up but Justine keeps it at a distance. Kozlov moves into the clinch. Kozlov dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Kozlov jumps guard and drags Justine to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kozlov pushes a forearm under Justine's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Justine is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
