Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Winston Leroux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Petzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leroux's entrance music is Q Lazzarus - Goodbye Horses. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Winston Leroux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Petzel!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petzel moves out of range of the body kick.
Leroux throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Leroux shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Petzel as he avoids it easily.
Leroux misses with a head kick.
Leroux is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Leroux wants to clinch.
Leroux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leroux looks for a takedown but Petzel sprawls well.

Petzel looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Petzel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Petzel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Petzel is working for a submission of some sort.
Leroux is not content to let Petzel control the position.
Petzel blocks the strikes from Leroux.
Petzel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Leroux is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Petzel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Leroux moves into the clinch.
Petzel wants a takedown.
Petzel looks gassed!

Leroux manages to break the clinch.

Leroux closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Leroux not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Petzel is looking for a sweep. Leroux is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Leroux wants to stand up but Petzel is controlling the position.
Petzel is looking to control Leroux's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Petzel avoid being mounted?
Leroux lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Petzel slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Petzel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Leroux gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Petzel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Petzel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Petzel has hold of Leroux's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Leroux manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Petzel looking for a guillotine from mount but Leroux is having none of it.
Petzel looking to control but Leroux is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Petzel might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Leroux kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Leroux wants to control but Petzel is having none of it.
Petzel lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Leroux hang on?
Petzel fails to move to back control.
Petzel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leroux tries to clinch but Petzel moves out of range.
Leroux lands with a kick to the ribs.
Leroux doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Petzel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Leroux trying to keep a closed guard but Petzel is proving a slippery customer.
Leroux utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Petzel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Leroux controls Petzel momentarily but Petzel frees himself.
Leroux looking to hit a scissor sweep but Petzel is one step ahead there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Leroux tries to clinch but Petzel moves away

and Petzel counters with a takedown into side control.

Petzel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leroux knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Leroux is not content to let Petzel control the position.
Petzel in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Petzel is staying tight to Leroux's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Petzel works to advance to full mount. Leroux defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Petzel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Leroux is looking to escape.

Leroux shoots in and drives through. Petzel sprawls well.

Petzel tries for a takedown but Leroux sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Leroux wants to clinch but Petzel slips to the side

and Petzel counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Leroux keeping moving, preventing Petzel from controlling successfully.

Petzel wants to pass the guard but Leroux is keeping the position.
Leroux tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Leroux has closed the distance and engaged Petzel in a clinch.
Leroux tries to break the clinch but Petzel is controlling the position.
Leroux wants to get back to striking at distance but Petzel won't allow it.
Leroux has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Petzel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Winston Leroux. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Petzel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Leroux fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Leroux throws a nice looking combination but Petzel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Petzel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Leroux won't be happy with that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alexander Petzel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Leroux looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Leroux drives through and clinches with Petzel against the cage.
Petzel tries to land knees in the clinch but Leroux avoids the damage to the body.
Petzel slows down the pace here.

Leroux turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Petzel gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Petzel tries to kick Leroux off but Leroux keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Petzel tries to get to full guard but Leroux has control of the leg.
Petzel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leroux is working away from the top position though.

Leroux wants to control but Petzel is keeping him busy.
Petzel tries to roll over but Leroux keeps him under control.
Leroux is keen to just control but Petzel is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Leroux stuffs the takedown attempt from Petzel. Petzel gets slowly back to his feet.
Petzel shoots in for a takedown but Leroux shows good takedown defense.

Petzel gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Petzel moves into full mount! Leroux won't be happy about that!
Petzel wants to take Leroux's back but he can't do it this time.

Petzel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Leroux has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Leroux!

Leroux is looking to stand up but Petzel won't let him.
Petzel keeping moving, preventing Leroux from controlling successfully.
Petzel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Petzel is tying to control. Leroux wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Leroux landing a few short strikes.
Petzel trying to control the action but Leroux is working from the bottom.
Petzel is taking a breather. Leroux says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Petzel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Leroux!

Leroux holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Petzel tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Leroux is squirming around, avoiding Petzel's attempts to control the action.
Petzel thowing shots but they're missing.
Petzel thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Leroux wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Petzel.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Leroux is looking to get to half guard.
Leroux is working hard here to advance position.
Leroux is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Petzel punishing his opponent with strikes.
Petzel trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Petzel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Winston Leroux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I've got Petzel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
