The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crippler connects with a body shot that sends Gold's belly button to the back.
Gold shoots in but no luck this time.
Gold chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Crippler can pounce on him.
Gold will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Crippler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gold.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Gold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gold looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crippler is fending him off so far but Gold persists. Nope, Crippler circles away and we're back to standing.
Crippler lands a head shot.
Gold shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gold showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
