Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kujo Yoritsune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Houses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoritsune kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is JAPAN. The key to victory for Kujo Yoritsune has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kujo Yoritsune!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Houses!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houses thows a body shot but no joy.
Houses is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yoritsune throws a combination that misses
and Houses counters with a leg kick.
Houses fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Yoritsune scores with a body shot.
Houses misses with a straight right.
Houses throws a head kick that misses.
Yoritsune misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yoritsune takes a swing at Houses's ribcage but misses.
Yoritsune throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yoritsune misses with a wild body shot.
Houses tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yoritsune swivels and escapes.
Houses fails with a takedown attempt.

Yoritsune misses with a wild combination.
Yoritsune throws a right hand that Houses ducks under and follows up with a left that Houses also avoids with ease.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Houses looking to sit in guard and control but Yoritsune gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Houses is pulling down on Yoritsune's head. It's preventing any offense from Yoritsune, at least for the moment.
Yoritsune works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Houses is looking for a sweep. Yoritsune is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Houses is looking to stand up but Yoritsune isn't so interested in that idea.

Houses has his foot on Yoritsune's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yoritsune works his way back into a safe position though.
Yoritsune has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yoritsune stands and throws Houses's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Houses tries to bench press Yoritsune off him but Yoritsune keeps the position.

Yoritsune connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Houses's hands.

Yoritsune looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Houses shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Yoritsune connects with a good right hand that stumbles Houses. Houses circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Houses shoots in looking for a takedown. Yoritsune tries to sprawl out of it but Houses keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yoritsune manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Houses goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Yoritsune turns into him and now he's in Houses's guard.

Dave Houses has got the better of the ground game so far.

Houses shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yoritsune as he jumps to the side.

Yoritsune tries to bum rush Houses with a series of wild strikes but Houses uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Houses tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Yoritsune manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Houses shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yoritsune sprawls well. Yoritsune wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Houses gets slowly back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yoritsune is looking to control Houses's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Yoritsune avoid being mounted?

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kujo Yoritsune.
I think Houses has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
