Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Alamente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wladimir Gilkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vincenzo Alamente could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wladimir Gilkov's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilkov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alamente sprawls well initially but Gilkov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gilkov prevents Alamente from improving his position.
Gilkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alamente keeps working.
Gilkov wants to free his trapped foot but Alamente is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gilkov moves nicely into side control.
Gilkov tries for a kimura but Alamente is defending well.
Alamente sneaks back into half guard.
Gilkov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alamente!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alamente escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gilkov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gilkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alamente swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gilkov passes into half guard.
Gilkov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gilkov uses his free foot to push down on Alamente's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alamente.
Alamente is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gilkov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alamente's face.
Alamente is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vincenzo Alamente will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Alamente has his foot on Gilkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gilkov works his way back into a safe position though.

Alamente has hold of Gilkov's hands but Gilkov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Alamente is looking for a sweep. Gilkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gilkov has Alamente pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gilkov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Alamente tumbling to the mat - Gilkov dives into Alamente's guard.

Gilkov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Alamente is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gilkov to the mat. Gilkov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gilkov is on top in guard.
