Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yakai Ossini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phillips has chosen Electric Daisy Carnival as his entrance music. Yakai Ossini has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips moves out of range of the strikes.
Ossini shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phillips sprawls well. Phillips wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ossini gets slowly back to his feet.
Ossini throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Phillips counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Phillips.
Phillips wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Phillips tries to break free but Ossini pushes him back against the cage.
Phillips gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Phillips connects with a knee to the head.
Ossini will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Phillips up against the cage.
Ossini drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Phillips is trying to push Ossini away but Ossini has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Ossini has Phillips pressed against the cage, preventing Phillips from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ossini goes for a takedown attempt but Phillips pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Ossini connects with a good right hand that stumbles Phillips. Phillips circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Ossini shoots in but no luck this time.

Phillips looks to land a right hand but Ossini moved out of range.
Ossini pivots, looking for a leg kick but Phillips is out of range and Ossini settles back down.

Ossini wants to slow Phillips down by chopping away at his legs.
Ossini goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Phillips doesn't manage to clinch there - Ossini circles away.

and Phillips counters with a good, hard body kick but Ossini shrugs it off.

A left lands for Phillips.
Ossini throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ossini swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Ossini throws a head kick but Phillips moves out of range.
Phillips swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Phillips is looking to clinch.
Ossini throws a head kick but Phillips moves out of range.
Ossini throws a lazy right hand but Phillips sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ossini throws a hook but Phillips blocks it.
A slow jab from Ossini misses its intended target.
Phillips pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Phil Phillips will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Phillips takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Phillips cracks Ossini with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ossini ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Phillips moves away.
Ossini misses with a low kick as Phillips jumps back.
Ossini throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ossini moves into range and connects with a jab.
Phillips displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ossini throws out the jab.

Phillips throws a head kick that misses.
Ossini throws a sloppy head kick and Phillips moves out of range easily.
Phillips shoots in but no luck this time.
A clash of legs there as Phillips blocks the low kick.
Ossini slips a straight right by Phillips.
Phillips gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ossini makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Phillips throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ossini's head.
Phillips leaves Ossini with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ossini ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Phillips moves away.
Phillips misses with a body kick.
Ossini throws a shot from downtown. Phillips moves away and avoids it.
Ossini throws an off balance right hand
and Phillips counters with a body kick that stops Ossini in his tracks momentarily.

Phillips moves in looking to clinch but Ossini pushes him off.
Ossini thuds his right hand into Phillips's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Phillips attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ossini blocks the body kick.

Ossini feints and as Phillips raises his hands in defense, Ossini changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ossini thows a big elbow that misses.
Phillips utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ossini working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ossini has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ossini works over Phillips with some ground and pound from guard.
Ossini preventing the sweep.
Ossini postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Phillips can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ossini controls the pace.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ossini accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Phillips wants to get back to his feet but Ossini is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ossini slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ossini loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ossini's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Nice uppercut lands for Ossini. That snapped Phillips's head back.

and Ossini cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ossini tried to score with a low kick but Phillips checks it.

Ossini jabs Phillips right on the nose. Phillips blinks but takes it well.
Ossini takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Ossini moves into the clinch successfully.
Phillips jumps guard but Ossini stands there with Phillips around his waist. Phillips gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ossini manages to break the clinch.
Ossini pivots, looking for a leg kick but Phillips is out of range and Ossini settles back down.
Ossini throws a jab when Phillips was well out of range.
Ossini misses with a body kick.
Phillips misses with an uppercut. Ossini saw that one coming.

Ossini drives through with a takedown into guard.
Phillips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ossini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ossini stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phillips swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ossini looking to sit in guard and control but Phillips gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ossini is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ossini is nestled in close to Phillips, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ossini seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ossini wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phillips keeps working.
Ossini looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Phillips with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Phillips is in trouble now - Ossini has advanced to mount!
Phillips is in a horrible position here. Ossini smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
