Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Fourie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Schnieder!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fourie looks to clinch

and Schnieder counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Schnieder decides to stand and escape the position.
Alexander Fourie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fourie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schnieder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schnieder misses with a takedown attempt - Fourie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fourie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schnieder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fourie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schnieder circles away quickly and effectively.
Schnieder shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fourie as he jumps to the side.

Fourie fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Schnieder to the ground. Fourie is now in Schnieder's guard.
Schnieder wants to stand up but Fourie is controlling him.

Fourie wants to pass the guard but Schnieder is keeping the position.

Fourie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Schnieder dives on top into guard.
Fourie wants to sweep but no luck.

Schnieder gets to his feet - Fourie follows without any prompting.

Schnieder wants to get up but he can't break Fourie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fourie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Schnieder escapes and throws Fourie's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Schnieder stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Nick Schnieder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Fourie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schnieder tries to avoid it but Fourie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schnieder to the ground. Schnieder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fourie throws a sloppy head kick and Schnieder moves out of range easily.

and Schnieder holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Fourie is fighting off a takedown attempt but Schnieder is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fourie to the mat. Fourie regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Fourie looking for a triangle here. Schnieder is fighting it but it looks tight! Fourie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Schnieder is tapping out - this one is all over!
