Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Brent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Shields!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields moves to clinch but Brent breaks away
and Brent counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Brent lands a jab to Shields's midsection.
Shields is looking to clinch.

Brent drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brent postures up.
Shields might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brent kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Brent missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brent tries to free his leg and advance position but Shields is retaining full guard.
Shields wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Brent manages to pass to side control.
Shields wants to improve his position but Brent is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shields is trying to control but can't.
Brent takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Brent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shields keeps working.
Brent prevents Shields from improving his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brent throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Brent lands a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shields misses with a head kick.

Brent has Shields up against the cage in a clinch.
Shields fails to pull guard.
Brent is stalling here.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Brent for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Shields is trying to stall.
Brent working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shields tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brent smiles and moves away.

Brent clinches up with Shields and pushes him back against the cage.
Shields tries to break the clinch but Brent is controlling the position.
Brent pushes Shields back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Brent keeps control of Shields as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Knees in the clinch landing for Brent.
Shields looks gassed!

Brent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shields shoots in for a takedown but Brent shows good takedown defense.
Dave Brent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Shields.
Brent throws out a powerful jab.
Brent cracks Shields with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shields takes one to the chin there.

Shields is rocked!
Brent cracks Shields with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shields tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Brent pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shields is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
