Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xhun Kawozinazaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcos Aurelio! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawozinazaki fails with the takedown. Aurelio forces Kawozinazaki back against the cage and clinches. Aurelio lands with a left to the head. Aurelio lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Aurelio escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kawozinazaki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aurelio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aurelio stuffs the takedown. Kawozinazaki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Aurelio wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawozinazaki wants to work for an arm triangle but Aurelio is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Aurelio wants to get back to his feet. Kawozinazaki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aurelio pushes Kawozinazaki off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aurelio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kawozinazaki paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kawozinazaki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aurelio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kawozinazaki somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xhun Kawozinazaki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aurelio sizes up Kawozinazaki with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Xhun Kawozinazaki has been cut.

Kawozinazaki is breathing heavily. Aurelio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kawozinazaki swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kawozinazaki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aurelio but Aurelio pushes him off and we're back to square one. Aurelio throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good standup being displayed there by Aurelio as he connects with a hook. Aurelio bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Aurelio lands with an overhand left.
Kawozinazaki is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aurelio forces Kawozinazaki back against the cage and clinches. Oh Kawozinazaki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Knees to the body from Aurelio.
Kawozinazaki seems to have got his legs back now. Aurelio cracks Kawozinazaki with a nice body shot. Aurelio drops Kawozinazaki onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Kawozinazaki is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Aurelio lands a huge knee in the clinch and it's knocked Kawozinazaki out! Massive knee - he's celebrating with his corner and the crowd showing their appreciation!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Marcos Aurelio!
