Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mini Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mini Cooper has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mini Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick James!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick from Cooper lands but James takes it in his stride.


It looks like Nick James has been cut.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cooper buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cooper lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Cooper takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!


James is rocked!
James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cooper. Cooper obviously looking to wear him down.
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Cooper finish him?

James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cooper is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
James seems to have recovered his senses.

Cooper actively working from the bottom here.
Cooper is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him

James is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cooper looking for submissions off his back.

James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

James is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cooper doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time James.
Cooper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cooper is pressing down on James's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cooper looking for a sweep. Not yet Cooper, not yet.
James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

James is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cooper is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cooper has escaped and now he's on top!
Cooper passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cooper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
James is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
James moves into full guard.

Cooper got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cooper has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted.
Cooper wants to get up but he can't break James's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
This has been an exciting period of action!

James looking for a guillotine here but Cooper defends easily.
Cooper wants to stand but James has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

James working for a triangle but Cooper defends it easily.
Cooper trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
Cooper works a leg free and moves into half guard.
James wants to get back to full guard.
Cooper is trying to control the action in half guard but James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cooper is trying to work for a kimura but James is defending well.

James looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James wants to control but Cooper is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cooper uses his free foot to push down on James's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for James.
James is looking to improve his position but Cooper isn't that keen on the idea.

Cooper stands up from mount. Strange move.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Cooper! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mini Cooper!
