The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bridges paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bridges is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bridges with shots to the head and body - Penn looks very uncomfortable down there.

Bridges has hold of Penn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Penn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Bridges looking for a guillotine from mount but Penn is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bridges postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Penn looks a forlorn figure.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Penn jumps guard but Bridges stands there with Penn around his waist. Penn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bridges is trying to control the position but Penn postures up.
Bridges wants to sweep but no luck.

Bridges working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Penn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Penn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bridges is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Penn frees his head nicely. Oh but Bridges has switched to an armbar! Penn is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
