The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wesker pinned against the cage. Wesker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wesker has managed to clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Wesker jumps into guard, dragging Hiro to the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wesker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wesker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hiro is one step ahead there.
Wesker is looking to stand up but Hiro isn't so interested in that idea.
Hiro controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Wesker wants to stand up but Hiro is controlling him.

Maku Hiro has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hiro sizes up Wesker with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Wesker shoots in for a takedown but Hiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wesker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hiro quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wesker wants to free his trapped foot but Hiro is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hiro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wesker prevents Hiro from improving his position.
Wesker looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hiro wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hiro tries a head kick but it misses.
Hiro misses with a few strikes there.
Wesker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wesker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hiro rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wesker's guard! Nice work there by Hiro!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hiro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Wesker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hiro throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Albert Wesker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Wesker slips a jab and a cross from Hiro.
Hiro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hiro misses with a wild combination.
Hiro gets a double leg takedown into Wesker's guard.
Hiro wants to control from the top but Wesker keeps moving.
Wesker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hiro won't allow Wesker to get back to his feet.

Wesker controls Hiro momentarily but Hiro frees himself.
Hiro looking to pass the guard.
Wesker looking for a triangle here. Hiro is fighting it but it looks tight! Wesker pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Hiro is tapping out - this one is all over!
