Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Rogowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spenser May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Rogowski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Rogowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spenser May!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogowski misses with a double jab.
Rogowski scores with a one two! May had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rogowski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rogowski!
Rogowski misses with a few strikes there.
May is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rogowski.

May gets caught flat footed, as Rogowski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
May is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rogowski is in close to May's body, working some short punches and elbows.
May is trying to keep Rogowski in close.

May working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
May looking to control.

May is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Rogowski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

May lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rogowski backwards.
Rogowski goes for a takedown attempt but May pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

May has taken the fight to the clinch.
May tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
May lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Rogowski wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Rogowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rogowski is breathing heavily.

May connects with a nasty looking knee right to Rogowski's face.
May prevents Rogowski from breaking the clinch.
May using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rogowski has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
May is pressed up against the cage. Rogowski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag May down to the mat. May avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

May drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
May passes Rogowski's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rogowski wants to get back to his feet.
Rogowski is looking for a sweep. May is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rogowski throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Rogowski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rogowski.
May stops Rogowski from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Rogowski gets a takedown into half guard.
Rogowski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks May with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rogowski lands strikes from half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rogowski connects with a nice short shot to May's temple.
Rogowski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

May is looking for a sweep. Rogowski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Rogowski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice shot lands for Rogowski.
May moves in looking to clinch but Rogowski pushes him off.

Rogowski moves into range and clinches up with May.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
May drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rogowski pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rogowski throws a series of strikes that have May backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
May fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rogowski circles away from the clinch attempt.
May wants to clinch.

Rogowski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rogowski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by May.
Rogowski misses with the combination.
Rogowski keeps the fight on the outside.
May tries to clinch but Rogowski moves out of range.

May closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - May lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
May lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
May passes Rogowski's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
May seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogowski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
May content to control rather than advance.

May is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rogowski is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
