Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dynamic Dave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dynamic Dave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dave misses with a series of wild punches.
Carwin dodges the punch combination from Dave.
Carwin slips a jab and a cross from Dave.

Carwin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carwin showed some decent athleticism there.
Dave keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dave has hold of Carwin's hands but Carwin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Carwin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carwin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dave's head.

Carwin is looking for a kimura but Dave is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carwin to get the leverage.

Carwin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dave has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carwin trying to control the action but Dave is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carwin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Carwin is keen to just control but Dave is a slippery customer.

Carwin wants to work for an arm triangle but Dave is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Carwin is trying to control the action in half guard but Dave is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Carwin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Carwin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Carwin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Carwin thows a huge punch but Dave dodges it nicely.
Dave is trying to stand.
Dave on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dave tries to get out of the position.
Carwin lands strikes from half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carwin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Carwin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dave defending well though.
Carwin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Carwin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dave tries to kick Carwin off but Carwin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Carwin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Dave is trying to escape back to his feet but Carwin uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Carwin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carwin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Carwin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dave to see if he's OK.
Carwin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Carwin throws a strike aimed at the side of Dave's head but Dave avoids it well.
Carwin trying to control the position but Dave is working away.
Carwin grinds an elbow into Dave's temple.


It looks like Dynamic Dave has been cut.

Carwin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dave is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Carwin working the head and body with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dave is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Carwin has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dave is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carwin landing a few strikes.
Dave tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Dave is breathing heavily.

Carwin has got one arm under Dave's chin. This could be trouble... Dave trying to control the other hand but Carwin gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Dave has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Shane Carwin!
