The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Charles misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Charles misses the target.
Charles lands with a shot to the body.

Charles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Charles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Machin on the ground.
Let's hope that Machin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

and Machin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Charles is breathing heavily.
Charles throws the left hand but Machin avoids the punch easily.
Charles throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Machin cracks Charles with a right hand to the side of the head.
Donk. Machin catches Charles right on the button with a cross.
Machin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Machin, as that shot connected.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Charles takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Charles looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Machin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Machin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Machin has hold of Charles's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Charles seems comfortable defending it but Machin has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Charles is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Charles is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Machin couldn't care less - he's delighted!
