Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw throws a leg kick but Kurken sees it coming and moves out of range.
Shaw fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kurken looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kurken enables Shaw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kurken manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kurken tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shaw content to stall in guard here.

Sam Shaw has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Shaw misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Kurken counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Shaw closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kurken did well to prevent Shaw getting side control.
Shaw is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Shaw prevents Kurken from improving his position.
Kurken is looking to get back to full guard here but Shaw has managed to pass to side control instead.
Kurken takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Kurken tries to improve position but can't.

Shaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kurken knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Shaw wants to control but Kurken is keeping him busy.

Kurken manages to get back to half guard.
Kurken is trying to get back to full guard.
Shaw is trying to control the action in half guard but Kurken is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shaw seems to be looking for submissions.
Kurken manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Shaw dominated that round.
That's time! Kurken's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kurken is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shaw is sitting in close to Kurken's body. Kurken has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shaw is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shaw is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kurken.
