Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Quarantine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Stout! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stout shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Quarantine eats them both and turns towards Stout to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Dan Quarantine has been cut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Stout breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Quarantine has his takedown stuffed and Stout counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Stout darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Quarantine looking for submissions off his back. Quarantine looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Stout in particular looking to stall. Quarantine trying to hold on to Stout's head to control him but Stout postures up.
Stout seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stout tries to pass the half guard into mount. Quarantine knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Sam Stout was stalling too much, according to the referee. Quarantine gets caught flat footed, as Stout shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Stout is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Quarantine has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Stout is looking to defend but Quarantine has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Stout! Quarantine pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Stout taps out and this one is all over!
