Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Lafleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Schnee Wittchen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Wittchen's choice of entrance music: Can't be touched. Reggie Lafleur has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Lafleur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Schnee Wittchen!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lafleur blocks a head kick by Wittchen.
Lafleur takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lafleur changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wittchen tries to avoid it but Lafleur manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wittchen to the ground. Wittchen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Reggie Lafleur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Wittchen tenderised Lafleur's leg. Lafleur is trying to keep his angry face on.

Lafleur fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wittchen, pushing him back against the cage.
Lafleur tries to score a body lock takedown but Wittchen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Knees in the clinch landing for Wittchen.
Lafleur misses with a knee to the head.
Lafleur is trying to force a seperation but Wittchen has the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like Reggie Lafleur has been cut.
Lafleur trying to control the position but instead, Wittchen has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lafleur into the cage.
Maybe Lafleur would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Wittchen tries to stall but Lafleur uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Lafleur shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wittchen but Wittchen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lafleur is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wittchen pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Wittchen is struggling to control the position.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Wittchen.

Lafleur looking to throw knees to the head but Wittchen is blocking nicely.
Wittchen slows down the pace here.
Lafleur is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Wittchen is defending well for now.

Wittchen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lafleur blocks it with crossed arms.

Lafleur takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Wittchen clinches up with Lafleur and pushes him back against the cage.
Lafleur tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wittchen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wittchen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Wittchen. Lafleur shrugs it off though.

Wittchen lands a left and a right that send Lafleur crashing to the mat, dazed. Wittchen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Lafleur is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schnee Wittchen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wittchen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wittchen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wittchen rushes Lafleur and presses him up against the cage.
Lafleur wants to break free but Wittchen has control.

Wittchen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lafleur seems to have got his legs back now.
Lafleur stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wittchen.
Wittchen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Wittchen has managed to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Wittchen breaks from the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Wittchen.
Good standup being displayed there by Wittchen as he connects with a hook.
Wittchen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lafleur's calf.
Wittchen throws a head kick but Lafleur moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wittchen. That's going to slow Lafleur down.

Wittchen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lafleur sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Lafleur fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wittchen, pushing him back against the cage.
Lafleur jumps guard but Wittchen stands there with Lafleur around his waist. Lafleur gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Lafleur is trying to drag Wittchen to the mat but Wittchen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wittchen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wittchen tries to land a knee to the head but Lafleur blocks with his arms.

Lafleur is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wittchen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Lafleur blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lafleur jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wittchen walks away with a smile on his face. Lafleur gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wittchen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wittchen throws a leg kick which misses Lafleur's front leg but catches the back leg as Lafleur tries to avoid it.
Wittchen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lafleur takes a step back to recover.
Wittchen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wittchen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lafleur manages to avoid it.

Wittchen moves into range and clinches up with Lafleur.
Lafleur is working for takedown but Wittchen is calmly controlling the position for now.
Wittchen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lafleur.

Lafleur fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lafleur drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lafleur is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Wittchen landing knees to the head.

Lafleur gets tackled into the cage by Wittchen. Wittchen maintains the clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Wittchen manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Lafleur closes the distance and clinches.

Lafleur changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wittchen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wittchen scoring well with a low kick there.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Wittchen! Lafleur is out on his feet! Wittchen rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lafleur is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lafleur is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
