Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Larry Quail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aram Gamburian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gamburian is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Judas Priest - The Ripper. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamburian misses with a double jab.
Quail shoots in for a takedown but Gamburian shows good takedown defense.
Quail shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gamburian as he jumps to the side.

Quail moves out of range as Gamburian strikes.
Gamburian misses with a double jab.
Gamburian throws a series of strikes that have Quail backpedaling.

Gamburian instigates a clinch.
Gamburian is looking to break free of the clinch but Quail has double underhooks.
Quail changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gamburian fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Larry Quail. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gamburian shoots in for a double leg but Quail sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gamburian forces Quail back against the cage and clinches.

Gamburian wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Gamburian's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gamburian throws a right and a left that Quail avoids nicely.

Quail closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Quail lands a decent elbow from side control.
The ground and pound from Quail seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Gamburian wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Quail is looking to take a break and control but Gamburian is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gamburian is trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quail decides to stand back up. Quail steps back and let's Gamburian get back to his feet.

Quail shoots in and drives through. Gamburian sprawls well.
Gamburian throws a combination that misses

and Quail counters with a shoot takedown. Gamburian fights it but they end up in guard.
Gamburian wants to stand and escape but Quail is having none of it.

Quail stands and steps away. Gamburian gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gamburian is breathing heavily.
Gamburian wants to break the clinch but can't.

Quail tightens his grip and picks Gamburian up, before dumping him to the ground. Gamburian manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Quail passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Quail seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gamburian does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Larry Quail.
Gamburian throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gamburian throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Quail decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gamburian's guard.
Quail cracks Gamburian with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quail slips nicely into half guard.
Quail lands with a punch from half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Quail content to control rather than advance.

Gamburian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quail. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Larry Quail has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Gamburian tries to land a front kick but Quail steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Quail shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gamburian as he jumps to the side.
Gamburian throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Gamburian misses with a two punch combination.
Gamburian shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Quail as he avoids it easily.

Quail shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gamburian is trying to defend but Quail finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Gamburian wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Gamburian's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gamburian is looking to break free of the clinch but Quail has double underhooks.
Gamburian lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Quail backwards.
Quail on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Quail prevents Gamburian from breaking the clinch.

Quail has picked Gamburian up - he's going for a ride! Quail dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gamburian takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Quail controlling the action here.

Quail has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Quail with shots to the head and body - Gamburian looks very uncomfortable down there.
Quail controlling the position easily from mount.
Quail seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gamburian for as long as he can get away with.
BOOM! Quail connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Gamburian takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Quail looking to control and managing it successfully.
Quail's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Quail lands a big shot there that rocks Gamburian but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Quail, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
