PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Kaplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bad Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Decent striking displayed by Kaplan there.

It looks like Bad Ass has been cut.

Ass pushes Kaplan up against the cage in a clinch.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Kaplan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ass pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ass bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kaplan's head.

Dave Kaplan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kaplan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Ass bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kaplan's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kaplan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kaplan wants it to stay on the feet.
Kaplan throws a hook to the side of Ass's head but Ass sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Ass tries to bum rush Kaplan with a series of wild strikes but Kaplan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kaplan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ass's efforts to push away.
Bad Ass seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Ass has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Kaplan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ass to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kaplan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ass pulls down on the head and he's put Kaplan to sleep! This one is all over!
