Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Servata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by Go To Church. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Servata with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Penn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Servata moves out of range of the strikes. Servata uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Penn.
Servata throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Servata fails with the takedown. Penn tests Servata's chin there with a solid looking shot. Servata gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Penn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Brian Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Servata. Penn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn gets caught napping as Servata dives in and scores a takedown. Penn manages to retain guard. Servata won't allow Penn to sweep him here. Penn is pulling down on Servata's head to control his posture. Penn is trying to control the position but Servata postures up. Servata trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Servata trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Servata throws a big right hand that misses. Servata looking to sit in guard and control but Penn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Pennis looking to pass into half guard but Servata pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Servata is in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Servata trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Servata is trying to get back to full guard. Servata is staying active underneath Penn, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Penn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Servata looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Servata has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Servata keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Servata is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Servata regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Penn. Servata has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Penn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Penn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Penn throwing strikes but missing. Penn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Penn preventing the sweep. Penn lands a couple of decent looking shots. Penn pushing down on Servata's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Servata trying to control from the bottom.
Servata wants to improve his position but Penn is controlling well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Penn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Servata is looking for a sweep. Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brian Penn will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Penn avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Servata shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penn defends it nicely. Penn misses the shot to the body. Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - Servata circles away.
Penn looks to clinch and Servata counters with a one-two to the body. Penn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Servata uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Penn has time to react. Servata avoids the body shot from Penn.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Servata.
That's one minute gone in the round. Servata gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Penn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Brian Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Servata. Penn looks to score with a jab to the body but Servata is just out of range. Penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Servata looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Servata is looking for a sweep. Servata is trying to control Penn's posture but Penn avoids it. Servata is trying to improve his position. Servata manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Penn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Servata with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Brian Penn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Servata is refusing to be controlled, as Penn sits in half guard. Penn thows a huge punch but Servata dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to control from half guard but Servata is working away. Servata keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Servata slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Penn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn throws a big right hand that misses. Servata working a defensive guard here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Penn dominating with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Servata shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Penn regains half guard. Servata is trying to control the action in half guard but Penn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Servata wants to pass to mount but Penn is defending the position. Servata trying to control the action but Penn is working from the bottom. Penn works his way to full guard. Good work. Penn working a defensive guard here.
Penn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Servata defends well.

Penn wants to control the position but Servata says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Servata wants to pass to mount but Penn is defending the position. Servata has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. BOOM! Servata connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Servata raining down shots from the mount! Servata throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Servata looking to finish Penn with some ground and pound. This is bad for Penn! Servata landing strikes from the mount and Penn is in trouble! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Servata controlling from mount. Servata lands a big shot there that rocks Penn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Johnny Servata has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Penn tries to get back to half guard but can't. Servata controlling from mount. Servata in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Servata sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Penn is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Penn is working hard here to advance position. Servata trying to control but Penn is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Servata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Penn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
