Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zeiasu Kenpachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Matters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zeiasu Kenpachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Matters!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kenpachi is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Kenpachi is squirming around, avoiding Matters's attempts to control the action.
A nice elbow there by Matters.
Matters looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Kenpachi is bucking up trying to escape but Matters cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kenpachi is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Matters working for a guillotine from mount but Kenpachi is in no mood to give up.

Matters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kenpachi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kenpachi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Matters had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kenpachi defends it easily.

Kenpachi throws a series of punches but Matters moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Matters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kenpachi tries to clinch there but Matters circles away.

Matters closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kenpachi's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kenpachi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Zeiasu Kenpachi wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Matters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kenpachi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Matters counters with a series of strikes. Kenpachi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Matters scores with a hook.

Matters moves into range and clinches up with Kenpachi.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Matters has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kenpachi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kenpachi tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kenpachi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kenpachi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Matters is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Matters has escaped and now he's on top!
Matters controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kenpachi has momentary wrist control but Matters slips an elbow through the middle.

Matters throws a strike but Kenpachi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mike Matters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kenpachi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Kenpachi is rocked!

Matters stands and steps away. Kenpachi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Kenpachi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Matters instigates a clinch.

Matters lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Matters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kenpachi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Matters is nestled in close to Kenpachi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matters winds up and cracks Kenpachi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Matters is looking for a kimura here.
Matters lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kenpachi quite badly. Kenpachi pulls Matters in close trying to recover. Matters postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kenpachi on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kenpachi doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Matters!
