Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Alfedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Pede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent Alfedo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Alfedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Pede!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pede tries for a takedown but Alfedo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pede gets caught napping as Alfedo dives in and scores a takedown. Pede manages to retain guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pede has his hands on Alfedo's head, controlling the position.
Alfedo thows a big elbow that misses.
Pede controlling the position.
Alfedo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pede is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Alfedo is defending against the submission attempts here by Pede.

Pede is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alfedo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pede has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Pede looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Pede is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alfedo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alfedo shrugs it off.

Pede goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Alfedo is on top in guard.
Pede has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pede throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alfedo escapes and throws Pede's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Alfedo tries to get to his feet but Pede is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Alfedo in his guard.
Alfedo wants to stand but Pede has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Pede dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Pede keeps the fight on the outside.
Trent Alfedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pede fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alfedo sprawls well initially but Pede persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Pede is working for a submission of some sort.

Pede is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Alfedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pede on the ground.

Pede is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stan Pede showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Alfedo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pede is trying is best to control the position here.
Alfedo wants to stand up but Pede manages to regain full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pede is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pede stands and throws Alfedo's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Pede is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alfedo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pede tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pede has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pede working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Alfedo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pede is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Alfedo is trying to escape and Pede transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Alfedo is forced to tap! Nice work there by Pede! Very nice indeed!
