The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Souza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Poor strikes thrown by De Souza there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

De Souza wants to finish this one by submission but Benn is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from De Souza.
De Souza moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Benn has worked his arm free - good work by Benn!
De Souza wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Benn, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Benn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

De Souza looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Benn has picked De Souza up and slammed him! De Souza can't keep hold of the triangle and Benn manages to pass to side control!
De Souza tries to buck Benn off but Benn is having none of it.
Benn lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear De Souza down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benn is looking to take a break and control but De Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
De Souza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Benn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benn has control of De Souza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and De Souza regains control of the situation pretty easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Benn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… De Souza is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by De Souza and Benn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Jose De Souza will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Benn feints and then cracks De Souza's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow De Souza down.
De Souza shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
De Souza closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Benn quickly recovers to half guard.

De Souza lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

De Souza is pressing down on Benn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Benn is holding on for now.
Benn manages to get to full guard.
Benn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
De Souza throws and elbow that misses. Benn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in De Souza's guard. Nice move by Benn!
De Souza has his foot on Benn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benn works his way back into a safe position though.

Benn wants to control from the top but De Souza keeps moving.
De Souza is looking for a triangle but Benn pushes his legs off easily.
De Souza is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Benn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of De Souza is proving hard to escape from.

De Souza is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Benn has his hands clasped together but De Souza extends an breaks Benn's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by De Souza.
