The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellison tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Steiner counter with a right hand.
Jason Steiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ellison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steiner tries to land a front kick but Ellison steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ellison shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steiner as he jumps to the side.
Steiner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Steiner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ellison swivels and escapes.
Steiner throws a nice looking combination but Ellison bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice takedown defense from Ellison. No joy for Steiner on that attempt.

Ellison fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steiner avoids it really well and circles away.
Jason Steiner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Ellison.
Ellison is looking to clinch but Steiner is avoiding it.

Steiner is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Ellison decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Steiner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ellison as he avoids it easily.

Ellison rushes Steiner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Ellison.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steiner is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ellison pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ellison is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Ellison lands a left hand that snaps the head of Steiner backwards.
Ellison utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Ellison breaks from the clinch.
Ellison bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Ellison moves into range and clinches up with Steiner.
Ellison lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Steiner can't get the takedown.

Steiner takes an elbow to the temple.
Ellison tries to work over Steiner's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Ellison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steiner takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ellison lands a head kick. Steiner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Jason Steiner has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ellison is looking to clinch.

Ellison shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ellison wants to control but Steiner is keeping him busy.
Steiner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ellison.

Ellison not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ellison decides to stand and escape the position.

Ellison lands a big head kick that sends Steiner tumbling to the mat! Ellison takes a step backwards and waves Steiner back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Steiner is rocked!

Ellison clinches.
Oh Steiner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ellison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steiner drops his hands for a split second and Ellison immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Steiner face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Ellison follows up with a right hand that knocks Steiner into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
