Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roman Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaylord Von Kockstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owens comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed- Inside the Fire. Von Kockstein has chosen Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know? as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Owens!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaylord Von Kockstein!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owens closes the distance and clinches.
Von Kockstein avoids the elbow strike from Owens, against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Owens working a defensive guard but Von Kockstein manages to pass into side control anyway.

Von Kockstein is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Von Kockstein is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Von Kockstein is just content to waste time from the top position. Owens takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Owens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Von Kockstein on the ground.

Von Kockstein swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Owens is now in Von Kockstein's guard. A big mistake from Von Kockstein there, giving up the dominant position!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Owens in particular looking to stall.
Von Kockstein makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Von Kockstein.

Von Kockstein is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Von Kockstein is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Von Kockstein is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Von Kockstein goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Owens has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Von Kockstein but great work by Owens.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roman Owens will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Von Kockstein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Owens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Owens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Von Kockstein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Roman Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaylord Von Kockstein.

Owens forces Von Kockstein back against the cage and clinches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Von Kockstein is fighting off a takedown attempt but Owens is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Von Kockstein to the mat. Von Kockstein regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Owens has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Von Kockstein to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Owens is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Von Kockstein pulls down on the head and he's put Owens to sleep! This one is all over!
