Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Ferrat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Trevor Ferrat has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trevor Ferrat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Briggs! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Ferrat misses the target. Ferrat lands a jab to the nose. Briggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Ferrat moves out of range easily. Briggs misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ferrat counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Jonathan Briggs has been cut. Ferrat stuns Briggs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Ferrat scores with a body shot.
Briggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Briggs misses with a wild body shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Excellent takedown into side control there by Briggs. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Briggs is trying to get an arm triangle but Ferrat is defending well. Ferrat regains half guard there - taking advantage of Briggs's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Briggs trying to control from half guard but Ferrat is working away. Ferrat keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Briggs throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Briggs missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ferrat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferrat is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briggs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ferrat does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Briggs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ferrat's head. Briggs with the ground and pound but Ferrat uses the opportunity to regain guard. Briggs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferrat swivels though and keeps the full guard. Briggs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Briggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Briggs won't allow Ferrat to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs postures up in Ferrat's guard and throws a big left but Ferrat blocks it. Briggs stands up from Ferrat's guard - Briggs perhaps looking for a knockout. Briggs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferrat but Ferrat pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ferrat avoids the head kick by Briggs.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Briggs is defended easily by Ferrat. Briggs tries a head kick but it misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Briggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Briggs misses with a head kick.
Briggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferrat moves away. Ferrat lands a right hook to the body.
Ferrat throws a jab when Briggs was well out of range. Briggs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ferrat defends it nicely. Trevor Ferrat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Briggs. Briggs takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Briggs looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ferrat uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Ferrat counters with a straight right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferrat dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Ferrat moves out of range easily. Ferrat just misses with a punch to the body.
Briggs shoots in for a takedown but Ferrat shows good takedown defense. A looping hook to the body misses from Briggs. Ferrat does a little dance to reset his feet. Nice shot lands for Briggs. Ferrat is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Ferrat moves out of range easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Briggs walks into a left hand. Jonathan Briggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ferrat lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Briggs is breathing heavily. Briggs gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ferrat gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trevor Ferrat!
