Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akaboshi Aida!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aida shoots in but Portnoy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A swing and a miss from Portnoy.
Portnoy slips under a jab from Aida.
Portnoy looks to land a combination but Aida avoids it well.
Aida steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Portnoy.
Aida walks into a straight right hand from Portnoy.
Portnoy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Aida clinches with his opponent.
Portnoy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Aida.

Aida drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Portnoy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mike Portnoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akaboshi Aida.
Aida wants a takedown but no success here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Portnoy lands a right hand that snaps the head of Aida backwards.
A short body shot lands from Portnoy as the two fighters clinch.
A short uppercut from Portnoy.
Aida is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Portnoy lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Aida wants a takedown but no success here.
Aida goes for a takedown attempt but Portnoy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Portnoy scores with the left hand. Aida knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Akaboshi Aida has been cut.
Aida walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A punch lands to the side of Aida 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Portnoy tries to clinch up but Aida circles away and keeps his distance.
Portnoy sends Aida crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Portnoy is motioning to the referee to let Aida up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Aida is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Portnoy misses the target.
Aida is still on wobbly legs! Can Portnoy finish him?
Aida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Portnoy sprawls well initially but Aida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Aida looks gassed!
Aida wants to work for an arm triangle but Portnoy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Aida seems to have recovered his senses.
Portnoy is pressing down on Aida's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Portnoy is on top in guard.

Portnoy content to stall in guard here.
Aida keeping moving, preventing Portnoy from controlling successfully.

Portnoy wants to get up but he can't break Aida's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Aida has his feet on Portnoy's thighs here. He's pushed Portnoy off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Portnoy screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
