Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Du Pont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and charly zhang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Du Pont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Pont shoots for a double leg takedown but zhang sprawls well. He's pushed Du Pont's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Du Pont throws a head kick that misses.
Du Pont shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has zhang pinned against the cage. zhang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Du Pont closes this distance looking for a takedown but zhang circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Du Pont. That's going to take a lot out of him.
zhang gets caught flat footed, as Du Pont shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
zhang closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
