The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skippy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Skippy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Skippy misses the shot to the body.
Skippy shoots in for a double leg but Evans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Evans lands a right hook to the body.
Skippy misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Skippy looks gassed!
Evans stuffs the takedown attempt from Skippy. Skippy gets slowly back to his feet.
Rashad Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pippy Skippy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Evans lands a hook that stumbles Skippy back into the cage. Evans follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Skippy to the canvas! Evans pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Skippy has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
