Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyprien Noe Cyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serge Savard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Voivod- Tribal convictions kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cyprien Noe Cyr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Serge Savard!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cyr.
Cyr blocks a head kick by Savard.
Cyr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cyr avoids the body shot from Savard.

Savard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cyr is looking to reverse the position.
Cyr tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Savard is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Cyr prevents Savard from getting a body triangle.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Savard has managed to clinch.
Cyr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Savard smiles and moves away.

Savard lands a high kick to the side of Cyr's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Savard dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Cyprien Noe Cyr has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Savard wants to stand but Cyr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Savard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cyr fails with a takedown attempt.

Savard throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Cyr is trying to maintain the position but Savard is very close to passing his half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cyr is pressing down on Savard's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Savard lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Cyr feints and as Savard raises his hands in defense, Cyr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cyr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Savard wants to stand up but Cyr is controlling him.
Cyr is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cyr tries to stand but Savard is controlling from the bottom.

Cyr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Savard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cyr, into his guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Serge Savard was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Savard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Serge Savard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Cyr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Savard pulls his head out easily.
Still in half guard, Savard seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Savard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Serge Savard has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Cyr avoids a kick to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cyr crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Savard - the referee stops the clock and Cyr gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Savard. Cyr manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Savard is working an open guard so Cyr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well Savard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
