The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson shoots for a double leg takedown but Morris sprawls well. He's pushed Simpson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Morris stuffs the takedown attempt from Simpson. Simpson gets slowly back to his feet.

Morris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simpson's guard.

Morris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Simpson prevents Morris from moving into mount.

Morris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simpson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morris stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Simpson throws up his legs and catches Morris in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Morris tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Simpson! That came out of nowhere!
