Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boston Terrier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silver! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver has closed the distance and engaged Terrier in a clinch.
Silver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silver turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Silver throws a one two combo.
Silver gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Silver gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Silver's corner is telling him to maintain position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Terrier could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Anderson Silver wasn't active enough on the ground. Silver feints and as Terrier raises his hands in defense, Silver changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver is in close to Terrier's body, working some short punches and elbows. Terrier is working an open guard so Silver takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Silver darts in and clinches Terrier up against the cage. Silver successfully pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silver is on top in guard.
Silver passes Terrier's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silver is nestled in close to Terrier, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice strikes from Silver there. Silver working over Terrier with some ground and pound. Terrier looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Silver maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Terrier could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Silver has cracked it and Terrier is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Silver!
