Cerdan comes to the cage accompanied by French National Anthem. Marcel Cerdan had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheese slips a jab and a cross from Cerdan.
Cheese takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cheese fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cerdan avoids it really well and circles away.
Terry Cheese seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cheese shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cerdan as he avoids it easily.

Cheese clinches with his opponent.
Cheese is trying to break free.
Cheese wants to get back to striking at distance but Cerdan won't allow it.
Cheese tries to pull guard but Cerdan holds him up against the cage and eventually Cheese drops back down to his feet.
Marcel Cerdan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Cheese.
Cerdan tries to break the clinch but Cheese is controlling the position.

Horrible takedown by Cheese or perhaps it was just good defense by Cerdan which made him look bad.
Cheese avoids the body shot from Cerdan.
Cheese throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cerdan's waist but Cerdan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cheese off to one side.
Cerdan throws a combination. Cheese tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Cerdan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cheese moves away.

Cheese instigates a clinch.
Cheese tries to score a body lock takedown but Cerdan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cerdan is pushing Cheese up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Cerdan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cerdan misses with a body shot.
Cheese's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cerdan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cheese scrambles back to his feet.
Cerdan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cheese uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cerdan.

Cheese throws a front kick that sends Cerdan stumbling back into the cage.
Cheese shoots in and drives through. Cerdan sprawls well.

Cheese closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cheese tries to pull guard but Cerdan won't allow it.

Cerdan breaks from the clinch.
Cerdan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Cheese fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cerdan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cheese looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sloppy strikes from Cerdan. Those never looked like landing.
Cerdan thows a body shot but no joy.
Cerdan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cerdan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cheese manages to avoid it.
Cerdan stuns Cheese with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cerdan is looking to wear down Cheese with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Cerdan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Cerdan works over Cheese's head and body with a nice combination.
Cerdan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cheese was well out of range. Poor timing from Cerdan.
Cheese keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cerdan just misses with a punch to the body.
Cerdan digs a good body shot into Cheese's ribs.
Cheese takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cheese is trying desperately to land a takedown but Cerdan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Cheese.
Cerdan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Cerdan misses with a jab, cross combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cerdan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cerdan wants it to stay on the feet.
Cheese throws a right hand that Cerdan ducks under and follows up with a left that Cerdan also avoids with ease.

Cheese looks for a takedown but Cerdan sprawls well.

Cheese is still on wobbly legs! Can Cerdan finish him?
Cheese moves forwards but Cerdan connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Cheese forces Cerdan back against the cage and clinches.
Cheese seems to have recovered his senses.
Cheese has had enough of the clinch but Cerdan keeps him there for the moment.
Cheese keeps control of Cerdan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Cheese jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cerdan walks away with a smile on his face. Cheese gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Oooooh!!! Cerdan has knocked Cheese down with a huge combo! Cerdan steps away and waves a wobbly Cheese back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Cerdan connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Cheese! He's out on his feet! Cerdan rushes in and drops Cheese with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
